About This Trail
The large loop around the lake starts out easy but takes you away from the crowds. The Van Slyke castle ruins and the Ramapo Water Tower ruins are two ruins that you can see if you follow the White trail. The White trail goes downhill to link up with the Red trail at the backside of the lake. This section is a good way to relax before tackling the next leg. Take the road away from the lake and connect with the Yellow trail. This trail is much narrower and not as marked as previous sections, so keep your wits about you. It will take you a while to get back to the parking lot. You will end up on a trail that will take you back to the lake.
