About This Trail
The altitude and steep switchbacks will test your endurance. It should be worth it while seeing the peaks and valleys. If the views don't impress you, the feeling of walking underneath the Bristlecone pines will. The trees have been here since before the Roman Empire and deserve our love and respect. If you travel quietly, you could see deer and mountain lion tracks. The trail may be difficult through May if there has been snow. The trail is easy to follow and very marked. It's only 1/3 mile to Mummy Springs once you're at Raintree. The Bristlecones and the other trees should not be disturbed, even dead braches. A forest hike with ponderosa pine and white fir.
