About this unit
Sheep Range north of Las Vegas within Desert National Wildlife Refuge — the largest wildlife refuge in the Lower 48. Limestone island range rising to over 9,900 feet at Hayford Peak, with Mojave Desert scrub at the base climbing through pinyon-juniper to mixed conifer at the top.
