Ponderosa Nature Trail

The road leading to the Whispering Pines Trail and the road leading to the Ponderosa Nature Trail are both across the road. The two short loop hikes combine for a pleasant one mile walk. The two trails are very similar. The canyon below is seen from the Ponderosa Nature Trail. It is often the day of choice to visit and see the dramatic skies. The trails pass under a canopy of trees, with the taller trees along the Whispering Pines Trail. The fall season is the most rewarding time to visit. The changing leaves add a bit of color to the two small loops, making it more memorable than a hot day in the summer.
