Pine Creek (Alta Toquima Wilderness)

Pretty hike which winds along a running stream between colorful canyon walls You may find this hike listed as part of the Pasco Canyon/Pine Creek loop, or as trails to Mt. Jefferson (12,000 ft. summit). The main TH is located just off the entry to CG, but there is another (nice if you're staying in the CG or if you don't have stock), which is next to stream at campsite #11 at the back of the loop. If you don't want to camp, Belmont is a delightful little historic town which has a motel, saloon & cafe. There is also a bike trail (signed) located next to the Belmont "hotel". Pine Creek trail is a very pretty, very moderate (almost easy) trail which spends a lot of time along and crossing the stream. When you're not walking among wildflowers, shimmering leaves, and the lulling sound of running water; you're along the slopes of the canyon, winding among red and brown cliffs and ledges, reminiscent of northern Arizona, or the Spring Mountains.
