About This Trail

You take a left on the blue trail after the trail starts with yellow blazes. The old Dibble's quarry provided stone for NYC sidewalks until the 1800s. People pile up old bluestone slabs to make walls, pillars, and chairs. This is a nice place to relax. There is a nice view from this spot. In winter spikes are a must and in high water spikes are a must. As you get closer to the notch, you'll see a fen, which is caused by the mountain water running down into it. If you reach the Devil's Path, you can go on to Twin or Sugarloaf, but it is a difficult trail and only for experienced hikers.
