About This Trail
The easiest way to get from Silverton to Telluride is through Ophir Pass. The wildflowers grow thick at higher altitudes. You cannot ride through town on the east side of Ophir Pass Road. It is recommended that you watch for signs. The best time to go is late June-September. The San Juan and Uncompahgre National Forests are located in this quote. For current conditions, call the Ranger District. It applies to a section of a rocky shelf road. It can be a little frightening to pass an oncoming vehicle on a narrow road.
