About This Trail
The trail was made in the late 1800's by Dr. Dell and Dr. Fairchild. The trail became popular and was used as the main route to the summit. The trail begins at Mt Baldy Village and goes through Bear Canyon, with its rich canopy of trees. Bear Cyn emerges to open chaparral, which leads to the ridge with an open Conifer forest and amazing views. You will enjoy a lot of varied terrain, shade, sun and breathtaking views when you climb the ridge. You will reach the Mount Baldy summit after an incredible 6.5 miles and 6000 feet of elevation gain.
