About This Trail
The Pacific Crest Trail intersects with the Smithbrook trail at 1.1 miles. On a flat section, turn left. You can find a turn-off for Mt. from 2.6 miles away. McCausland is on your right. The trail is not clear. If you notice Lake Valhalla on your left, you have gone too far. The middle section of the trail to Mount McCausland is very steep. You can gain 650 feet in half a mile. A summit register is in a steel box. You need to get there.
