About This Trail

Imported description
It is possible that the road may close in the winter. It is recommended that you check prior to your visit. The views from the summit of Mount Islip are stunning. You can see Crystal Lake, the front range of the San Gabriels and the San Gabriel river canyon. The hike starts at the forest service road and goes up for a half mile before heading left to Little Jimmy Camp. The group that is less ambitious can take a break in the camp and the group that is more ambitious can head up to the summit. The summit trail is at the back of Little Jimmy camp. The summit trail leads to a ridgeline. You should stay on the ridgeline trail up to the summit if you have a junction with another trail.
