Mount Givens

You can start the trail from the Kaiser Pass Road or drive the mile up to White Park Vista (a rough dirt road). The first 100 yards is the section of the road that is the most tricky. From the White Bark parking area, follow the 4 wheel drive road up the ridge and continue along the road until you see the use trail that heads off to the left (it stays up, the road goes down). After 3-4 miles you'll see a small meadow and Givens will be on your left. You can either head directly up the ridge or continue to follow the road around the base before heading up to the peak. The trail headed up to the peak is all cross country and a slog, but after about a mile you'll be rewarded with fantastic views from Yosemite to Mineral King. Return the same way you came, however, a number of people get turned around coming down from Givens. The four wheel drive roads can fool even experienced hikers, so a GPS or map and compass skills are a must. This is also an excellent spring ski with some nice runs down the mountain and back to the Kaiser Pass Road.
