About This Trail

It's a great place to hike or backpacking for a long day. Mount Shasta, five thousand feet taller than Mount Eddy, is the highest peak in the Klamath Mountains, but barely anyone notices. The scenery, solitude, and variety of wilderness around Dead Fall Lakes should not be overlooked. The lakes are almost entirely surrounded by mountain peaks, which is where the first half of the hike will take us. If you don't plan on hiking Mount Eddy summit, the lakes are a great destination for backpackers.
