About This Trail

Generated from trail data
A short loop from the Falls Overlook beside the visitor center down to the base of 129-foot Burney Falls, where roughly 100 million gallons a day of spring water pours over — and straight out of — a basalt cliff on Burney Creek. The descent and creekside stretch were rebuilt in an $835,000 project with repaved tread and ADA-compliant guardrail, and the route crosses Rainbow Footbridge below basalt talus slopes. Teddy Roosevelt reputedly called the falls the Eighth Wonder of the World.
