About This Trail
The 238-acre parcel was purchased in a bargain sale from Constantine Macricostas. The unspoiled land a mix of meadow, farmland, wooded ridge and wetlands is just north of Route 202, and is a magnificent natural gateway to the town. The aggregate preserve now consists of 368 acres and was previously comprised of four other parcels. The central 238-acre parcel contains 50 acres of prime farmland, 90 acres of woodland, and 98 acres of wetlands. The eastern limit of carbonate bedrock in this region is represented by the sites unusual geology. The preserve contains one of the Towns largest fresh water supplies.
