About This Trail

It's important! The trail has been closed by the BLM. Absolutely, including the remarkably intact Martinez Mill. This is an area that is sensitive to the environment. It is open all year except for a few weeks when military training exercises are in progress. The main entrance at Cottonwood Canyon Road and Mineral Mountain Road has a date of closing posted on it. If red flags are flying, the area is closed. A permit is required to ride in this area. Call 602-364-2753 for more information. This trail is very steep and has rock obstacles. The most dangerous part is called "The Luge." Turn around at the top of the loop to avoid "The Luge". Stock SUVs can get to the top of the high point.
