About This Trail
It is mostly an off-road driving route, although hikers can use it. The historic Martinez Mine is at the end of the canyon. Visitors can also go to the mines from the end of the road. It's open all year except for a few weeks when military training exercises are in progress. The main entrance at Cottonwood Canyon Road and Mineral Mountain Road has a date of closing posted on it. If red flags are flying, the area is closed. A permit is required to ride in this area. For more information, call 602-364-2753.
