About This Trail
Generated from trail dataA paved former lighthouse access road climbing the hot, dry slopes of Makapuʻu Point through low kiawe and panini cactus to lookouts above the red-roofed 1909 Makapuʻu Lighthouse. The summit takes in Oʻahu's southeastern coastline, offshore seabird-sanctuary islets, and — on clear days — Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi. One of the island's best shore-based humpback whale-watching perches from November to May.
