About This Trail

Generated from trail data
A paved former lighthouse access road climbing the hot, dry slopes of Makapuʻu Point through low kiawe and panini cactus to lookouts above the red-roofed 1909 Makapuʻu Lighthouse. The summit takes in Oʻahu's southeastern coastline, offshore seabird-sanctuary islets, and — on clear days — Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi. One of the island's best shore-based humpback whale-watching perches from November to May.
