About This Trail

Generated from trail data
A 4.8-mile forested loop along the ridge on the west side of Hālawa Valley inside Keaīwa Heiau State Recreation Area, whose namesake 16th-century healing temple stands near the park entrance. The route passes lemon eucalyptus and Norfolk Island pines planted by 1920s foresters, native koa and ʻōhiʻa near the Puʻu Uau high point, and the wreckage of a B-24 bomber that crashed in 1944. Views sweep from Pearl Harbor to the Waiʻanae Range.
