About This Trail
The trek to Stewart Lake has a payoff when it comes to lunch on the lake shores. A route that is quickly levels off a little, is a tough grade but not too steep. The forest trail is good for cooling and rewarding efforts with the view of a great wilderness. There are fields of purple herbs, indian paintbrush, and lilies as well as plants from aspen and fern. The area is full of hills, which will put you in New Mexico. The small waterfall commemorates the route to a beautiful lake that is reflected in the forest and peaks.
