It is acessable to hike for a short time every year. When you are in the mood for a short hike, the Kaysville East Mountain Wilderness park is a great place to go. It can be done in less than an hour and is a great place to bring the kids. You can add more physical exercise to your experience by visiting some exercise stations. This trail is great for hiking or biking in the winter. The trail head is an accessible point for the Great Western Trail and the shoreline trail.
