About This Trail

Imported description
This loop trail touches two main trails: Indian Hollow and Pine Tree, you start walking at the trailhead of the Indian Hollow located to your right in the Aguirre Springs Group Area (near the point: 32.37237, -106.55439). There is a fence that you have to cross, then you also cross the arroyo and continue walking up to your left, the trail goes around the mountain. After about 0.7 of a mile you will reach to an arroyo in the middle of a small canyon, do not cross it, there you turn to your right. The trail is not well marked, although is on the map, sometimes is not easy to find it, always walk by the right side of the arroyo following the direction to the Organ Mountains. Sometimes the trail is clear and sometimes you cannot see it, but you will find some stone signs and also cattle tracks that that guide you. Do not be afraid, just walk slowly, it is not difficult and will be a rewarding experience, the scenery is wonderful! In less than a mile you will reach the Pine Tree loop Trail, then turn to your right and follow the marked trail until you get to the trailhead. At the trailhead, turn to your right and walk on the side of the Aguirre Springs Road until you arrive to the Group Area again. The loop trail is less than 3 miles and a half, and will not take you more than 3 hours, depending on the time you take to rest and contemplate the mountains and the beautiful landscape, full of rocks, plants and flowers. It is very important that you wear hiking shoes and also bring a hiking stick.
