About This Trail
The Pioneer Mountain Range is located in the Sawtooth National Forest. The peak is on the boundary of two counties. At 12,009 feet, the peak is barely considered an Idaho 12er. The 9th tallest peak in the state is considered to be one of the easier peaks to summit. Most people climb the peak by the east ridge. It is a two mile trail from the trailhead to the point where you will start hiking the mountain. People mountain bike this flat section and sometimes they leave their bikes in the trees.
