About This Trail

The Hawk Mountain Trail is only for foot traffic and goes 0.7 miles south from the trail's start to the town's lookout. The grades are moderate and the surface is mostly dirt. The trail is an excellent experience for the whole family. The summit has cliffs with panoramic views that are great for picnicking or birdwatching. This hike is a two-for-one deal, it is quick and easy, and has a beautiful view at the top. Make sure you don't miss the view. You reach an open clearing with a fire pit after a.7 mile climb up a rough road. Continue on a little way to the open ledge.
