About This Trail

The Beehive Trail is a moderate to difficult trail that is very steep and offers a spectacular view of the Sand. You can start north of and across the One way loop road from the Sand Beach parking area and climb steps through the forest to some exposed flat rocky areas and a tall cairn of rocks. The trail can be lost in your enthusiasm to scale the cliffs if you don't look for the light blue markers. The technical part of the climb is taken out by strategically placed iron rungs, bridges and hand and foot holds. You can either go down the back side or the way you came after you reach the top.
