About This Trail

Halcott Mountain isn't a trailless peak, it's a peak. It makes the cut because it is at 3537 feet in elevation. The hike through the hard wood forest is quite easy. You need to use your own navigation skills if there is no trail. In the Fall and/or Spring it's easier to climb it while the leaves are down. It is likely that you will no longer see any other people on your journey. You can follow the herd path to top of falls. You can take a drive in a northwest direction if you cross the creek. If you go along a body of water you'll likely see two or more stone foundations. You reach the ridge after going for a steep ascent over a few thousand feet. Follow the ridge to the SW. It is now considerably easier to walking with the option to take a few short climbs after the levels have been stretched. It is possible to sign the register at the summit. It's disappointing there are no great views at the top.
