About This Trail

This island of green is located in Lake County's most urban area. The amenities are clean, safe and well-designed, and there is a surprising array of birds, wildflowers and landscapes here. There are 5 miles of trails for hiking, 4 miles of trails for bicycling and cross-country skiing, and a 1-mile self-guided nature trail in the preserve. This is a landscape of oak groves, wetlands and prairie. The effect of 150 years of settlement has been felt in the area. Were nursing it back to health. You can find wildflowers such as shooting stars and blue-eyed grass here.
