About This Trail
This trail has it all: hiking, river crossing, snow crossing, mud crossing, swamp crossing, the CDT, beautiful lakes, scrambling areas, and gorgeous views that will take your breath away. This is a tough trail both on the ascents and the descents. There are many water crossing and trekking poles that are recommended, and there are rocky areas on the trail that can wash out. It is worth the weight to have that extra stability that could prevent a tragedy. Take the CO 17 and then take the 250 to the trail. It is a dirt road, and it is well kept. A sedan could do it.
