About This Trail

Imported description
Fort Atkinson was the first United States Army post to be established west of the Missouri River. The fort was abandoned in the 19th century and was located just east of Fort Calhoun. The site is now known as Fort Atkinson State Historical Park. The state built a replica fort at the site. Park hours. The time is 8 am - 5 pm.
