About This Trail

This is an excellent introductory hike for someone who isn't normally out there. You don't have to negotiate the trail with ease in a pair of tennis shoes, but hiking boots will allow you to progress further up the trail. The trek doesn't end at the falls, but it is a common end point for hikers. The scenery of the Sonoran desert scrub is classic and the further you go on the trail, the more you get. The reward of a beautiful waterfall at the end of the hike is more of a requirement for most begginers. I personally introduced a lot of people to the outdoors by taking them on this hike. The family from toddlers to elderly enjoy this trek on a regular basis and there are lots of hikers to keep them company. If you plan to stay overnight, you'll need a permit from the park office.
