Devils Playground from the Crags

The best way to get to some interesting Rock formations is a hike up the side of the mountain. The sign for the Crags trailhead can be seen from the parking lot. Go down the trail. Take the trail across the log bridge and you will see a sign on the right. The trail will take you into a basin at the base of the peak and then it will take you up to Devil's Playground. The Friends of the Peak are working to make the trail more sustainable. You will see the Sawatch Range, Tenmile Range, Mosquito Range and the Sangre de Cristo Range as you ascend this steep section. This hike is very steep at times and reaches a peak elevation of more than 12,000 feet.
