About This Trail
The trail in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area is 50 feet in length, with a 4 foot wide land bridge, and has hundreds of feet of drops on each side. Use caution in the causeway crossing, there is no rope or rail to assist you. The trail is mostly forested until it reaches Little Causeway Lake. You will see the causeway when you get to this point, and the Chinese Wall when you get to the west. This is the end of the easier part of the hike. The area can be prone to lightning storms. It is important to start your hike early to avoid getting caught in a storm. Return to lower ground if you see lightning. Dogs must be under control. This trail can be used as a loop to get a longer hike after crossing the causeway.
