About This Trail
Users have reported that the loop portion on the southern side is temporarily closed. Hikers can go back to the Continental Divide overlook. The trail leads up to the historic Crags Hotel ruin which burned down in 1912, and it is beautiful with views of the canyon and eastern plains. The sign at the ruin site is worth a read, because of the history of the hotel. The trail ends with a great view of the Continental Divide and a good place to sit and relax. This trail is not very steep and undemanding. Dust and rocks can make the way down slippery. This is one of the few trails that you can hike during the day and not be drained by the heat. There is one section of the trail that is confusing. There is no sign that says to go to the right over the bridge.
