Royal Arch Trail

Start on the trail by the ranger station. You enter a pine forest after crossing a grassy meadow. As a number of other trails branch off, start paying attention to signs for Royal Arch. You know you're going the right way when you get to the staircase. This trail has many rewards. The Royal Arch is a local favorite. There are many stairs to the top. The views of the Flat Irons and the open valley of Boulder, CO are great. The highlights include wild flowers, rock formations, steep inclines, birds of prey, and an initial well-packed baked earth entry trail.
