About This Trail
The person walked east from the parking lot to the campsites. Turn left on the old fire trail and you will reach Priest Wilderness. A trail covered in grass is defined but then crossed with windfalls. It was an easy hike, but only a little scrambling over trees. A trail is on the right side after it descends into a meadow. It ascends onto thePinnacle Ridge, 2000 ft above Tyro to the north, and 1000 feet below Priest Mountain to the southeast. The rocks extend about 1000 feet or so out. The rock is not suited for rappelling during the winter. It is recommended that you use care for loose rock, moss and lichen. The rocks give a spectacular view to the east and on a clear day you can see Monasco Mountain in the middle of the river near Howardsville.
