About This Trail

The Newport Arboretum gives visitors a chance to visit legendary specimen trees. The first tree walk in the Newport Tree Walk Series is called The Colonial Tree Walk. Washington Square is the start of the walk in Newport. You will learn about one of the longest living plants on the planet when you pass the first specimen planted in America. You will pass several architectural landmarks including the oldest synagogue, oldest lending library, and oldest Episcopal Church in continuous use.
