About This Trail

Imported description
This forested trail is just 10 minutes from downtown Providence. The Lime Rock Preserve has a variety of habitats. The Moshassuck River and Manton Reservoir are two of the highlights along the trail. The Preserve is an excellent place to observe the seasons change, look for birds in the pond, or look for animal tracks in the snow. There are more rare plant species in Rhode Island than any other site. Ferns and wildflowers grow along ridges of recrystallized limestone. There is an abandoned electric rail-bed on the western edge of the property.
