About This Trail

Imported description
You can follow the HQ trail away from the parking area. The amphitheater is on the left and the Chestnut Knob trail is on the right. The Jacob Fork River Gorge overlook can be reached by following Chestnut Trail for half a mile. The first half mile is the most strenuous part of the trail. You can see the 80 ft. High Shoals Falls from this overlook. Go back to the main trail and walk until you reach the T-section. Go left towards the chestnut overlook knob. At the trail junction, turn left and follow the trail to the exposed rock outcrop. You should watch your footing. Return back to the parking area.
