About This Trail
Go south for Capitol Lake from the Capitol Creek trail. Go over the pass past Capitol Lake on the Capitol Creek Trail and then go south on the Silver Creek Trail. Continue south over rugged terrain to Arkansas Mountain and Silver Creek. Go to the Lead King Basin Jeep Trail and then take the route to the Geneva Lake Trailhead. It's a good idea to head to the picturesque turquoise lake. The trail goes to the east over Trail Rider Pass to the lake. The Maroon Snowmass Trail goes northward up the valley. It's possible to depart the Maroon Snowmass Trail and go over Haystack Mountain to get to the Capitol Creek Trail.
