About This Trail
The Great Salt Lake Wetlands provide critical habitat for birds that migrate from the Pacific and Central Flyway of North America. This area has a lot of food for birds. Birds come to the refuge to eat and rest. The James V. Hansen Wildlife Education has interactive displays and a film that shows the birds and their habitat. The Friends of the Bear River refuge produced a film that takes you on a 27 minute journey through our history and seasons of wildlife. A 1.5 mile walking trail leads through the wetlands just outside the center. The center is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm weekdays and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturdays.
