About This Trail
Pass Canyon is located in the Oquirrh Mountains of Utah. The best way to get to Barney Peak is from the north side. The Churchwood Road is in Pine Canyon. There are patches of oak and big tooth maple in the canyon bottom and north facing slopes. The slopes are dominated by elm and oak. In the spring, wildflowers include mule's ears, balsam root and indian paintbrush. In June there is a large and diverse population of butterflies. There are many species of birds there as well. It's not a canyon with a lot of traffic. This canyon is close to a decent sized community. The canyon gets hot in July and August because it mostly faces south.
