Bandera Crater - Ice Caves [CLOSED]

The trail takes off from the Ice Caves Trading Post, which is home to many Native American artifacts. There are 2 trails leaving the Trading Post. The trail to the ice caves is relatively short and takes 20 minutes to travel. You will look in from the observation platform if you hike down to the mouth of the cave. The cave never gets much warmer than 31 degrees. You can take a trail from the Trading Post to look at the volcano. The trail is wide and easy, but it doesn't stop until you reach the crater lookout. It is a rewarding hike which will take you 1/2 mile each way and has amazing views of the crater, lava tubes and cinder cones. It is a great hike for the family and you can buy some cool trinkets at the Trading Post.
