Imported descriptionThis heavily-timbered, isolated mountain range rises abruptly from the surrounding plains, providing habitat for a unique mix of mountain and prairie wildlife. Many species found infrequently in eastern Montana are found here. Bighorn sheep can often be seen on the south side of Saddle Butte and Silver Peak, especially in winter.
