It is possible to set up your own campsite away from developed fee sites. It's a great story if you're getting away from it all and just enjoying a weekend with friends. There are opportunities to camping miles into the wilderness or just off a forest road. If you are going to dispersed camping you should always bring everything you need as water, restrooms, and fire rings may not be available nearby.
