Elbert Creek Campground

More information regarding this closure is posted at the entrance to the campground in accordance with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Please ensure you bring enough water to serve your needs for the duration of your trip. Located off the Halfmoon Road (FSR 110), Elbert Creek is a first-come, first-served campground adjacent to the Mount Elbertand Mount Massive Trailheadsat 10,000 feet. This is a very popular campground for hikers. Facilities include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water. High altitude sickness may occur at this altitude. Please click on the link for a general map of the Halfmoon Creek Campgrounds. During the 2020 season, water will be temporarily unavailable at this campground. Please bring water for your camp, including enough water to completely drown your fire, leaving it cold to the touch, if you are having a campfire.
