About This Trail

The highest point in the park is Glacial Erratics. The largest county park in Morris county is the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. The Highlands trail is a part of a long distance trail that will stretch from the Delaware River to the Hudson River and traverse the NY/NJ Highlands region. The trail goes through some nice valleys lined with beech trees and you can see the wildlife management area. If you leave the Highlands trail you can go to the Boulder trail. You get onto the Pine Swamp Trail after going through the boulders. The trail takes you to the highest point in Morris County and is lined with trees. The old Ogden Mine rail bed is where you end up after going along the bog. You will be taken back to the parking.
