About This Trail

This is an easy hike through holly and ferns that has a Bald Eagle nest. The Wood Marsh Trail begins at a trail head and parking area. The trail goes through an oak and beech forest. Several low bridges provide access to the trail. The forest is peaceful as the squirrels hunt for food. The Great Blue Herons can be seen from the open areas near the end of the trail. Birds are frequent visitors to the marsh. The parking area for about eight vehicles is maintained by the refuge manager. There is a sign at the trail head that explains the features of the refuge. There is a small wooden box near the sign.
