About This Trail

Imported description
The beautiful high- elevation route starts and ends in historic, quaint mountain towns. St. Elmo is a ghost town in Colorado. It has a general store and an ATV rental. Tincup Store and Frenchie's Cafe are active businesses. It's located in the San Isabel National Forest. Call the Ranger District for current conditions. The road at 12,000 feet is usually covered in snow by early July. This trail is a good choice for SUVs with low range of gears. It is possible to reach St. Elmo by car. The "Old Tincup" route has a rocky section.
