A quote: Hike the creek to the lake. "If you keep walking east while you go onto the main trail you can reach the Table Mountain peak - located off the eastern edge of your neighborhood." There is good birdwatching opportunities in the French Peaks and the surrounding mountains. The trail over lava lake is very rocky.
