Swan Creek Greenway Trail

It is closed past Forest Street. The greenway trail goes along Swan Creek. The nature greenway is close to downtown Athens, but it is far from the rest of the country. It provides a nice view of the creek. The Sportplex Trailhead is a paved and wooden boardwalk that should be wheelchair accessible. The trail goes along the back side of the high school after it leaves Swan Creek. This part ends at Swan Creek Park, which has picnic pavilions, tennis courts, and an archery range. Take the bridge to the next part of the trail. The 1.2 mile portion goes up to Swan Creek. This section is gravel and ends at Highway 72. The Swan Creek Trail is a National Recreation Trail.
