A Mt. Adams Climbing Pass is required for anyone 16 and older traveling above 7,000 feet from May 1 to September 30, even without going for the summit. Passes are sold on recreation.gov. In the October to April off-season, only a self-issued Wilderness Permit is needed to climb above 7,000 feet.
